Digital Preservation and Archiving

International Journal of Animal and Wildlife Research (IJAWR)

The International Journal of Animal and Wildlife Research (IJAWR) is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of its published scholarly content, including research on animal biology, wildlife ecology, biodiversity, conservation, and animal welfare.

Digital Preservation

IJAWR takes appropriate measures to preserve published articles, the Version of Record, DOI information, and associated publication metadata. Published content is maintained on the official IJAWR website and backed up to support continued access and preservation.

PKP Preservation Network

If IJAWR participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a free, LOCKSS-based digital preservation service for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS), published content may be preserved through this network in accordance with its technical requirements and the journal's preservation arrangements.

Where the journal is properly configured and eligible, the network helps preserve published articles and maintain access to the scholarly record if the journal's website becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable.

Preservation of the Published Record

IJAWR preserves the published Version of Record and associated metadata in accordance with its established archiving arrangements. Where an article is corrected or retracted, the publication record is maintained in accordance with the Corrections and Retractions Policy.

This approach supports the integrity and traceability of published research, including findings related to wildlife populations, biodiversity assessments, animal behaviour, and conservation practices.

If IJAWR Ceases Publication

If IJAWR ceases publication, the journal will make reasonable efforts to maintain access to previously published content through its established digital preservation arrangements, subject to applicable technical and contractual requirements.

Where content has been deposited in an external preservation service, its continued availability will depend on that service's preservation and access policies.

The journal will not guarantee access through a specific preservation network unless the relevant archiving arrangement is confirmed.
